Sygate firewall and multiple XP accounts

P

Paul Higgins

I am new to my WinXP Pro system. While logged on as administrator I
installed Sygate Personal Firewall Pro 5.0.

If I stay logged on as administrator then whenever I try to access
the Net with a new application Sygate pops up a message to ask for
permission.

I then created a user acount. When I switch to that account and try
to access the Net then nothing seems to happen. If I switch back to
the XP Pro admin account I see there are a SYgate pop up messages
asking for permission.

Is it possible to have these pop up messages appear in the user
account?

If you are using fast user switching Sygate does not support that
configuration currently. It's hidden away somewhere in their documentation.

Try Kerio V 2.1.5

It works well with XP and fast user switching.

And also works with ICS which Sygate also doesn't do. (The free version that
is!)

It is 'hidden away' in the known issues section of the readme file for
the current version of Sygate Pro.

No it doesn't. I know because it doesn't work well for me and they
said so on the Kerio Yahoo Group.

They reckoned that the only free firewall that works with Fast User
Switching is Zone Alarm.
