How can i restore my laptop to the beginning of december 06? Its running slow
and keeps crashingbut it was fine in december.
I also read that i can do a initial system restore which takes it back to
its original mode, but i can't see how to do that.
Any help would be great, Thanks.

The System Restore utility that comes with Windows XP should only be
used to go back a week or perhaps 10 days at the most. Going back
further than that usually results in more problems than it resolves.
If you do want to try it the use Start - All Program - Accessories -
System Tools - System Restore. For detailed information about System
Restore and how to use it see MVP Bert Kinney's System Restore pages:

As for setting the computer back to original mode, if your computer
came with Windows XP preinstalled by the manufacturer then they would
have given you detailed instructions on how to put it back to "as it
left the factory" condition.

However from what you have said I think that your computer may have
some sort of virus or spyware infestation. See MVP Malke's Malware
Removal site

Good luck
