Switching from wireless to ethernet cable connection

I am currently using wireless connection (which for a few months was fine,
then now disconnects every 2 minutes) and I'm trying to use my ethernet cable
connected to the router to connect tot he cable internet connection, but it
isn't working.

For the wireless connection try this:

Check the Authentication options in your wireless network adapter's settings
and make sure that you don't have 802.1x authentication enabled. You'll
find this by right-clicking your wireless adapter in the Network Connections
box, selecting Properties, then the Authentication tab.
