Like he said. Export all the OE stuff (don't forget the address book and account settings too) to an outside, findable, folder. Then, using disk, flash drive, etc. save and copy to drive on new Vista machine. Then in WinMail, use the IMPORT for messages (in File>Import menu), again for the account setting (in Tools>Accounts menu), and lastly in Contacts>Import menu for the address book. You can't use the Transfer Wizard between different OS's apparently. WinMail will IMPORT the old message folders into a subfolder within the WinMail Local older. If you want you can MOVE them to the appropriate folders in WinMail and delete the old ones. When you IMPORT the messages into WinMail, it if doesn't automatically find your files, just keep going down the prompts and it will eventually give you a page where you can "browse" to the correct location manually. When thru the same thing when I got the new Vista machine back in November. Good luck.

I just purchased a new computer with Vista OS. I had Outlook Express on my
old system. I now have Windows Mail on the new computer. Is there any way
to bring the Outlook Express DBX files into Windows Mail? I tried to
import, but it didn't seem to recognize any of my folders.
Copy ALL the mail files from OE (including the one called Folders.dbx) and
paste them into a folder you have created on your new machine, to which you
have read/write permissions. A folder within your Documents folder would
seem to be the best place.
Then in Windows Mail, do File-Import-Messages, highlight Microsoft Outlook
Express, and click next.
Make sure that "Import from an OE6 Store directory is checked, (that's why
you need to copy the folders.dbx file, because that tells WM the folder is
an OE message store) and click on OK. Browse to the folder you created.
