switching between windows of different applications

I'm entering data from that I find on the web into a spreadsheet. I'm frustrated by the fact that everytime I click onto my Excel window, my Internet Explorer Window disappears. This doesn't happen when I switch between Excel windows, only when I go from one application window to a different application window. I KNOW that there must be a way to keep that IE window from minimizing. So what is it? Thanks.
 
I right click on a open part of the task bar and use tile.
