Switchboard behavior

hello
when i use the switchboard to open a form or a report i can proceed any
further and i must close the switchboard in order to add records or print
reports.
Is this the normal behavior of the switchboard or i must change something?

This is not normal behavior. Make sure you selected the correct option for
opening the form.
