swflash.ocx problem Not Solved

I have gone to Macromedia site and run the uninstall programs for both Flash
versions that might have been on my computer. I then installed the newest
version of Flash. This was supposed to stop the "Can't find swflash.ocx"
message from popping up, but it didn't. What other steps can I take??
Thanks.

I would try re-registering the file. start/run, type : regsvr32 swflash.ocx

Thanks for the suggestion, Mark. What I realize now is that "swflash.ocx" is
a file from Version 5.x, which I have uninstalled and replaced with Version
7.x It's a mystery to me why it's being "called up." It definitely does
not exist on my computer, and as far as I can tell isn't supposed to be
needed. I'm not much of a techie, but is it safe to assume I can't
re-register something that isn't there?? Any suggestions?

I just went to this page:
http://www.macromedia.com/cfusion/knowledgebase/index.cfm?id=tn_12727
which speaks of deleting the swflash.inf file. I can do that too. I don't
understand any of this ActiveX stuff, so I'm hesitant to fool around too
much. Thanks for your help.
