OK, it was blaster, sorry guys, you were all right, I
thought for some reason McAfee would alert me to it, but
it didn't. The trick to find it was running fixblast
BEFORE rebooting an infected system.

Here's a tip. Get a hardware firewall. Even if you have only one computer.
I read recently that the average time to infection for an unprotected
computer is 20 minutes. That's hardly time to download the critical patches
on a new install. Firewall routers are available with dial up backup for
use if you don't have DSL / Cable. It's $100 (or less) VERY well spent.
 
Just change the properties of the tftp.exe file located in
win\system32 ... to not be able to run.
