The error prompt is as follows:

Svchost.exe has generated erors and will be closed by
Windows.

You will need to restart the program.

An error log is being created.

I have tried repair & re-installation of Windows 2000 many
a time. Problem still persist. Pls help

i had the same problem
the solutions is to block that .exe file by your fire
wall, so it will not access the internet. after you block
it you will not face that problem again.

i dont know why is that, but i think because your copy of
windows is too old and you need to update it to SP4 ( i am
not sure )

try whay i told you and your problem will be fixed by that
inshalla

after that, tell me the reason of why that .exe file
generates error messages while it access the internet. is
it a new but found in windows????

replay me after your problem is fixed

I have the same problem and WINDOWS 2000 SP 4 did not fix
it.
