svchost.exe- memory access violation error

I'm having some difficulty with Windows 2000 Pro(SP4).

I have a software application that uses a simple TCP
connection to a plant networking system via ethernet.

I can communicate with the plant network OK. However, if I
leave the computer connected, then after a couple of days
the computer will generate an error message as shown:

//****************************************************
Title:
svchost.exe - Application Error

Caption:
The instruction at "0xe03t3a68" referenced memory at "".
The memory could not be "read".

Click on OK to terminate the program
Click on CANCEL to debug the program
//****************************************************

After this happens, I need to restart the computer for
everything to work OK again. Unfortunately, I must make
this computer be able to run for long periods of time
without any user interaction.

I would really appreciate some direction on how to fix
this. Everything that I've been able to find in the
newsgroups implies that things have been fixed in "Service
Pack 4".

Look into information regarding the Blaster and Nachi worms. You might have
it and if you do, your system is helping to spread it around the world.
There have been several posts about this recently, just do some searching.
