Svchost.exe errors

Susan

I recently upgraded to Windows 2000. Now, when I open
Explorer or Outlook, I get the message "Svchost.exe has
generated errors and will be closed by Windows. You will
need to restart the program. An error log will be
created." I searched the Microsoft support website and
found resolution instructions at
support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;319161.
However, there seems to be a discrepancy between a comment
under "Cause" which says Win2000 dialing-location listings
start at Location1, and the instructions
under "Resolution" which direct one to change the Location
Listings to Location0 to start.

I have applied the Resolution steps as written, and still
the error occurs. I then changed Location0 to Location1.
Still the error. What should I do?

Do you have Firewall?
I think this can be a good idea restrict the access of
svchost.exe of internet! Can be hacker activity!
