svchost.exe - application error

I keep getting the following error message whenever I surf
the net or using Outlook:"svchost.exe - Application Error.
The instruction at 0x77f895a9 referenced memory at
0x0000273d. The memory could not be read."

When this happens I cannot launch application or copy and
paste function is disabled.

Please help

Check for a virus with the latest file definition table.

Rule out parasites.
