I don't know that this would cause a problem but,
yesterday my husband was palying Freelancer, it was
choppy so he closed an instance of SVCHOST (I know you're
not supposed to close system processes). The game
continued to run fine. But the next time he went to
start up Freelancer it now closes after the startup
splash screen and we get "Freelancer has encountered a
problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the
inconvenience." I run a server off my computer so I am
trying to fix without reinstalling, because that will
mess up my server correct? I don't know of anything else
that has changed on my machine. No new programs were
installed prior to the problem. But I did try installing
C&C:ZH later that day and I get the same problem with it.
And reinstalling C&C does not help it. Like I said I dont
know that it's related to SVCHOST, I would think after
the systme was restarted all instances of it would start
back up....
