svchost and it taking up to much resources

Sometimes my computer gets bogged dwon. I go into my
windows task manager and notice one svchost (local
machine)taking 50-75% of my computer cpu. Is this
right? I will restart my computer and open all the same
programs and I will not have this svchost issue. Any
idea what is wrong? Or how do you fix this? Thanks for
your time.

In task manager click applic. tab. Whats running? Shut down virus programs
and test.
