Suspicious Email

How may a suspicious email be deleted without opening it
first? Right clicking and choosing delete only freezes
Outlook. Ending task and restarting only starts the cycle
all over again.
 
Turn off the preview pane before you click it. View---Preview Pane.

And if the suspect e-mail is the first one in the list so it gets
selected when you open Outlook before you have the chance to disable the
Preview pane, start Outlook without a preview pane ("outlook.exe
/nopreview").
