SUS

I have installed SUS on a test server. Seems relatively simple and there
isn't much to the applicaiton. I have added the GPO to a test OU for
updating PC's. I configured the Windows Update policy within the GPO and
enabled the "Configure Automatic Updates" and "Specify intranet Microsoft
update service location." Within "Specify intranet Microsoft update service
location" I added the SUS server (http://servername). I don't know of any
other settings, nor do I read of anything else to configure. I tested and
it doesn't work. The Pc's that reside in the test OU do not receive the
updated approved by SUS. I confirmed the GPO can be see by setting another
policy within. Is there something I am missing? Seems pretty straight
forward.

Confused.

Thanks

Have you read sus deployment guide? It can be found at the same download
location as the SUS itself.

Yes. There isn't much to it. It seems pretty straight forward. The test PC's that are in the OU that has the Update GPO are configured with Auto Updates and the settings are grayed out with the time I set in the GPO. So I know the PC's are getting the policy settings.

What doesn't work then? Have you approved any updates on the server so they
can be delivered to the clients?

All updates are approved. But after the update time has passed, the PC's still don't receive the updates. Note: SUS is running on a default install of Server 2003.

I have installed SUS on a test server.

You're better off posting this to the SUS news group. Also, read the
documentation again, there is a 22 hour window in which the updates can
be applied, based on the schedule you set.
