SUS/2000 Registry Problems

C

Craig

I've created a .reg file to automate the installation in
the registry to enable SUS on my Win2k clients (NT
Domain). When I import the registry entries, everything
looks fine. But when I go into gpedit.msc, everything
there still says 'not configured'. I restarted the auto
updates services and rebooted the server with no luck. So
2 questions:

1) Do I need to manually add the wuau.adm template before
the registry import (didn't matter either way - I tried
it)?
2) How do I get the template to 'acknowledge' the registry
entries instead of saying 'not configured'?

Thanks

No, you don't.

It doesn't matter. Say in the registry - if there are all needed keys and
values that all will be all right.

The changes made in Group Policy editor are written to a Policy file which
is then applied to the box, so the program isnt actually reading the
information from the registry.
