AU Client does not check for updates..

Hi

I have SUS setup on my W2K Server (SP4) which is also the
domain controller, DNS, DHCP and IIS provider. Using a GPO
for the domain I have configured the clients to run AU.

On the clients (all W2K Prof with SP4), in registry,
everything is set correctly, but still they do not check
the SUS site for updates.

Does anyone know why ? Any help or hints are welcome.

NB! The clients was already running AU before the
installation of SUS and they all worked nicely. The
registry settings for "detectionstarttime" is still in
effect. I have read everything I can find on the MS
website regarding SUS and AU on the clients, and tried all
suggested actions, but have so far without luck.

Problem Solved:

It turned out to be a DNS problem. The DNS name and the
TCP/IP no I used (I tried both) as pointer to the SUS
Server in the clients
HKLM\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate
WUServer value was not correct. After correcting this, the
clients starting querying the SUS Server for updates. But
only after approx. 20-24 hours. Removing the
LastWaitTimeout value from
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Currentversion\WindowsUpdat
e\Auto Update and stopping and restarting the AUtomatic
Update service, the detection was done within 10 minutes.

This solved the problem. As noone replyed to this call,
there is noone to thank. However I want to thank those who
have replied to other calls, which in the end helped me
solve this problem.
