Suggestions on VB.NET books.

I'd like suggestions on great VB.NET books. This seems to be a great book,
'Programming Microsoft Visual Basic .NET Version 2003',

Any other suggestions and why you chose that one?

I have that book & its ok, but not very technical or in depth for me, but
great for a beginner/intermediate programmer. Makes a good door stop too )

Actually, I found one about a year ago on Ebay, & Amazon, but it wasn't
licensed to be published in the UK so, both of those sites wouldn't send them
to me or at least that was their excuses. Maybe, they didn't want to pay the
shipping.

I will do another search later & see if I can come up with the ISBN's of the
books mentioned above

The book previously mentioned is a good book, don't get me wrong, but isn't
good enough for my ability. If I need to look anything up in there then you
can guarantee that it won't be in there. Hence I said its a good door stop

Hum... I dont know... I am quite fond
of the "programmers cookbook" series.
Just have to beg the writer to continue
writing more of those books.

PLEASE WRITE MORE PROGRAMMERS COOKBOOKS!!!!
(Hard cover would be nice too.)

(Probably the only book worth getting two copies.)

I don't know how advanced a text you need. I am a hobbyist programmer and
found the following very readable and useful. I needed to get my head around
understanding classes and object orientated programming at the time, and
this did that when many other books had failed. I alsways find that it very
much depends if a book caters for the style that you like to read. I read
this one on holiday last year!!

Let me just say that I have been programming now for 25 years, so, I need
something as technical as I can get it. Imagine the most difficult (heavy)
VB.NET programming book you can buy & then you'll understand the start of the
technical ability in the book I look for. Admitedly, I haven't heard of the
Primer book & if I see it in my local library then I'll take a look, but I am
interested in something that can
stimulate the mind. Do you know of any?

Anyway, we shouldn't be helping me with a good book, but Brett who
originally asked the question. So, what is the level of programming you are
looking for, Brett?

Apologies Crouchie - I believed that I was replying to Brett on this one.
Additionally I did not know the level that Brett was after. The book that I
mentioned I found extremely useful. Additionally I've just checked out the
original book that he was talking about and realised that I have the first
version of that book. I do find it quite detailed and a useful refernece
book.

I have that book.
It's good.
Get it.

Many useful things are covered in much more depth than in other books.
I can't imagine how big a book would have to be to cover EVERYTHING in as
much depth as one would ever need.

I disagree that this book is as in depth as anyone would need because I need
something more than that. So, for the general programmer it would be a good
book to acquire
