Microsoft concentrate yourself on developement of SECURE
operating
systems. Involve all your developers on the Longhorn
project.
So new features like WinFS, Avalon etc could be
implemented in time and
let third party vendors develop other software. What is
the intention
of Microsoft. Do you want to dominate the whole software
market?
For instance, what is the purpose of implementing the
ONE CARE option, although their are plenty other suites
on the market which will do the job. Don't lose time
in developing robust, secure and stable Operating systems.

There are older version of windows that will not have the protection of
Longhorn. Even ME, 2000, 98 does not have the protection XP has. There are
still several people whom do not want to pay for AV programs. MSFT is just
trying to help people, that other companies are not focusing on.
