Suddenly WMM has stopped recording sound

I'd be very grateful if someone could help me. I've just realised that for
the past 2 days all the mpgs produced by transferring VHS videotapes no
sound. Previously there has been no problem. All the files made before Friday
have full sound but since then none has been recorded. My wire connections
are fine and the volume level is turned up to maximum. For the record, I
have one video capture device (Dazzle). On the Video Capture Wizard screen
the Audio Device selected is 'Realtek AC97 Audio' (the only other choice
being Modem #3 Line Record) and the Audio Input selected is 'Mono Mix'. The
Video Input Source is 'Composite'. Should I choose something different for
either of these settings, or maybe something else? I'm not aware of changing
any of them but maybe I did so accidentally. Sorry if I sound ignorant about
this. I've tried using the Help feature but it doesn't make clear what these
things actually are, merely saying I should choose the 'appropriate' one.

If your wires are connected to the dazzle then you need to select the dazzle
as your sound input.
If you cannot, then connect the audio wires to the sound card inputs,
realtec ac97 audio and try again.
