Suddenly no pictures in HTML messages

Roberta

Running XP pro SP3, Outlook 2002. About Wed. or Thurs, any html messages
received do not include pictures. Did Microsoft send out an update that
might have interfered? Or did I do something I'm not aware of?
Thank you, Roberta

There is no such an update. Verify if the Internet Explorer is in
offline mode (go to the file menu in IE). If so switch back to online
mode.

Otherwise see if purging Outlook's secure temp folder does help:

Christian:
Thank you for the input. I d/l and used the cleaner file because I couldn't
find the "security" key in the registry. I was able to find it in my TIF
file. I also emptied all my temp files and ran defrag on both the registry
and files. None of it has helped. I forgot to mention that I use
Feedreader, an RSS program and at the same time, it quit showing the
pictures on its feeds.
I just recently installed IE 8. Do you suppose I should try going back to
an earlier version?
Thanks, Roberta

I am using IE8 without any problems, certainly I have installed Outlook
2003 (desktop computer) and 2007 (laptop). If there are any problems
with OL 2002 in association with IE8 -- I don't know. Maybe it's worth a
try going back to IE7 temporarily to see if the issue still persists.

Hi,
Well, it didn't. So am back to square one. Other things to do, so will
just live with it for a while. If I really want to see those pics, I'll go
to the websites!
Thanks much for the input. Appreciated.

I uninstalled IE8 and went back to IE7 yesterday afternoon. Rebooted
computer. Didn't change anything, so said forget it (again).
This a.m. when I booted up - guess what? Everything is back to normal!
Too bad, although I use Firefox as my preferred browser, I was getting to
like IE8.
