All of a sudden I can't get past the first page of inbox -
message pops up MS Outlook has encountered a problem and
needs to close - EVERY time - Also saw message MAPI was
unable to load the information service Pstprx.dll - I
went to MS Outlook help and followed instr for
Knowledgebase Article 293058 to install a new profile -
this did allow me to view the messages in my inbox but
can't do anything because of shutdown message - I think
there is some flag set somewhere that needs to be
unlocked - H E L P P L E A S E ! !

Thanks Milly,

I appreciate your advice, but I fixed it myself -
finally! about an hour ago. That is about the ONLY thing
I didn't try (or didn't know that might work)I tried
using repair from the installation disk, totally clean
removal and reinstall 3 times - NOTHING worked - Making a
new user profile made my inbox come up so I could see I
did not lose my e-mails etc. but it wanted to shut down
and wouldnt let me open them.

Finally I uninstalled Outlook for the 4th time and did a
search for Outlook files - to my amazement there were
about 30 ! The pst's were there but many I didn't
recognize and some had two with the same name.

I very carefully did a print page to note where they were
so I wouldn't lose my 1,500 name address book and 2,000 e-
mails - then I moved them into newly named folders on
another drive for safekeeping.

Then I reinstalled Outlook 2002 from the CD and it was
looking for 5-6 pst type files that held all my previous
data - and I connected them up to their new location and
PRESTO - IT WORKS! Everything is restored. That was
really scary for about 18 hours though. Hope this helps
someone else
