Outlook and Hotmail

I have Outlook 2003 XP SP3 I have been using hotmail with Outlook for years
and now all of the sudden I am not downloading new mail message to inbox or
junk-mail. I checked all the settings and nothing has changed in the setup.
Is this just a temporary MS Live things or what?

No, it's permanent. You need Outlook Connector to download and send
Snotmail now. Google it or search for it on microsoft.com. An
alternative is to use GMail or Yahoo mail if it isn't yahoo.com or yahoo.ca.

one of the methods below to connect to Hotmail before September 1, 2009.
After this, new e-mail can only be delivered to your mail programs through
the following solutions.

Diane, thank you for the link. I have some additional questions. I am trying
to continue using Outlook Express 6. I have an MSN account and 2 hotmail
accounts. The MSN helpdesk gave me the pop3 server name and the smtp server
name to configure OE6. I configured all three accounts and the config works,
however it downloads all three accounts into the same inbox and it does not
download any of my subdirs. Everthing is still intact when I connect via the
web. Using the HTTP connection only a few days ago in OE6, it allowed my my
separate accounts downloaded separately with my subdirs. Am I missing
something here? Thanks. Bobby

Unfortunately, that is how POP3 works - inbox only. Since you use OE,
Windows Live mail is a good option for you - it is very similar to OE and
supports the replacement for HTTP - so you'll be able to have all of the
folders on your computer and in separate folders. You can install it and
try it without affecting OE.

Hi Diane, While I am not too excited about Windows Live Mail (much more bulky
than OE), I did go ahead and load it again last night (I had installed and
uninstalled once before) Seems to work ok except that some of my
subdirectories do not have any emails present. I installed Sep 3, (last
night) and I would have thought it would have had time to sync emails. I went
to the web site to check and see if the emails were really gone or just not
in Live Mail. All my emails are present when I check at the web based email
site, but I cannot get them to sync to Live Mail. Any suggestions? Thanks

It should work but I don't know enough about live mail to know what to check
next - there are some live mail forums around you can try.
