sudden vista shut donw

I have a new laptop with a installed version of Vista home Premium. Vista
will suddenly shut down even though the laptop is still powered up. It
doesn't seem to matter what I am working on. It has shut down during Excel
and Outlook . any hints...I'm new to this...

Hi,

A shutdown that occurs without warning or a stop error is usually initiated
by the system hardware in response to detection of either a hardware fault
or an overheating condition. As the system is new, you should have it
checked by the manufacturer.
