Help! Suddenly my Outlook 2007 has changed from my normal view to something
I hate and can't seem to change out of, despite rebooting and trying to
"restore" to an earlier version.

What I had and want back is the view that has vertical divisions with:
(1) the left side showing the folder names, and
(2) the right side showing a split with the top offering a list of messages
from the chosen folder and the bottom offering the text of a selected message
from the "top" list. This is what I want to get back again!!

What I now have and can't seem to get rid of is (even after shutting down
and/or restoring to an earlier time) is a view that has vertical divisions
with:
(1) the left side showing the folder names, and
(2) the right side showing only a list of messages from the chosen folder,
which takes up the whole right side of the view and does not allow me to see
the chosen message below. I can't see the actual message unless I click on
the message in the list and then it is a slow process. Argh!!

What happened and how can I get back to the view I had before and want again?

Try the various settings in the View drop down menu. Examples: Reading Pane,
Navigation Pane. If you click on one and it doesn't solve your problem,
click it again to deselect it. Try another. None of these settings are
permanent.
