Sudden Strike no CD error

Hi, I'm having trouble getting this game to run. It installs ok, but when I
try and run it, it says the CD is not inserted, when it is. I've tried all
the patches I can find that are meant to cure this problem, but with no
effect. Is there a specific order I should install the patches/restart/cross
my fingers? I also have the Sudden Strike Forever add-on, but I get the same
problem when I install this.

I'd really appreciate any help with this.
