Acces problemes for counter-strike ?

I am trying to get counter-strike 1.6 working under Vista.

I can run steam and the program without any problems. I can make a local
game of counter-strike and play no problemes.

But when I connect to a online server I get problemes. I join the server
connection is established. Progress bar is showing and when it gets to
precaching resources it dies. Nothing happens for some time and I end up with
a connection timed out :(

Would really appriciate any help on this.

I am runing fully updated steam on Vista RC1.

I seem to say this alot but, this may be due to the new autotuning
feature of the TCP stack in Vista. Try running the command below from an
elevated command prompt and let me know if that makes any difference.

netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel=disabled

Hello,

Try running counter-strike "as admin" by right-clicking it and clicking Run
As Administrator. I don't know if CS uses a "punk buster" type anti-cheating
system, but if it does, I wouldn't be surprised if it doesn't like not
having admin access to the system.

I tryed running steam and cs in administrator mood but still no luck.

I was attending a lan this weekend and there I had no problems playing cs.

To sum up..

In Vista at home with my own internet connection jeg cant join a cs server.

On lan with my computer same setup no changes but another connection, I can
play cs no problems.

At home I have no trouble playing from winXP on the same mashine as Vista
(dual-boot).
