Why is my outlook suddenly requiring me to input my network password (I'm not
connected to a network, by the way, this is my home laptop!) in order to send
or receive email? Every time!

Um, just how did you expect to send/receive e-mails if you are "not
connected to a network"?

Is your version of Outlook to remain a secret?
Is your version of Windows to remain a secret?

I'm on Outlook 2003, Windows XP. And I'm on Comcast (I really meant that I
wasn't connected to a corporate network when I said I wasn't hooked up to a
network ...

Ha, Ha. Okay, what I meant was that I'm not linked to a corporate network,
smarty. This doesn't help me figure out what is happening and why, as I wrote
this response, I had to enter my email address twice.

To Ben you revealed your Outlook and Windows version. From that, Ben
already provided a KB article on some solutions regarding how to get
your login credentials remembered. I'd suggest starting with method 3
which has you delete the encrypted cached login credentials. This will
require that you enter them the next time along with ensuring the
checkbox is enabled to remember your login credentials. After that,
hopefully they are remembered.
