Since you are not sure what a subweb is, why do you think you need one?
What is it that you would like to accomplish?

I keep hearing that by using subwebs I can successfully create a
discussion group. I've make one at one time, but the second time, it
didn't work.
Thanks,

Creating Discussion web as a subweb:

FP2000
Open Current FP web, File Menu | Open Web
File Menu | New | Web | Discussion Web Wizard
Options: Specify the location of the new web as:
for Server based:
http://CurrentWebName/DiscussionWebName
or
for Disk based:
c:\My Documents\My Webs\CurrentWebName\DiscussionWebName
Do not check either of the two check boxes below.

FP2002
Open Current FP web, File Menu | Open Web
File Menu | New from template | Website templates | Discussion Web Wizard
Options: Specify the location of the new web as:
for Server based:
http://CurrentWebName/DiscussionWebName
or
for Disk based:
c:\My Documents\My Webs\CurrentWebName\DiscussionWebName
Do not check either of the two check boxes below.
