I keep reading quite a bit about creating sub webs and they speak about
folders in a web and converting them to subwebs. I have never created a
subweb in that manner so I need to know if the procedure I use ends up with
the same results as converting folders to subwebs or perhaps what I am
creating is not a subweb at all but something else.
For my main web site I opened front page and clicked on File>New>One Page
web site and then selected "One Page Web Site" under the general tab, gave it
a name C:\My Webs\My New Web. Then on the index.htm page I added my text and
images and published the site to http://mynewweb.com
For my subwebs (or whatever they are) I once again opened front page and
clicked on File>New>One Page web site and gave it a name C:\My Webs\My New
Web2. Then on the index.htm page I added my text and images and published
the site to http://mynewweb.com/web2. During the publish, front page always
opens a window and says that there is no web2 on the server and do you want
front page to create it for you and I say yes and it does it.
I have about 60 such webs on my local computer and each published to my
remote server, each having their own index.htm, _private folder, images
folder and additional .htm pages so are these sub-webs? or would they be
called something else?
