Hi

Can you please describe your spyware problem ?

Spynet are getting thousends of reports and your problem
is probably among these reports, it is not possible to solve
this bug within Beta1.

And if you have spyware I recommend you to start with this:

- Download CCleaner, www.ccleaner.com and remove all temporarily junk.

- Download/Install Lavasofts Adaware
http://www.download.com/Ad-Aware-SE-Personal-Edition/3000-8022-10399602.html?tag=list

IMPORTANT ! After install upgrade Adaware definitions with "Check for
updates".

- Restart in safe mode, press F8 during reboot just before Windows flag
screen appears.

- Scan with MSAS and Lavasoft Adaware, choose "full scans".

And let us know if it works, if this fails please describe what
"symptoms" you sees within your PC, names, popups, redirects etc.

I do not have problem other than the bug of not being able to submit the
Spynet report. What I posted below is what the Spynet scan found. Im not
clear what that is, whether it is something amiss or whether its related to
the bug.
Ive done a full Beta scan in SAfe mode and it comes up clean. As for Ad
Aware by Lavasoft I alread have that and Spybot and all come up clean.
Im inclined to think I dont have a problem, but another expert suggested I
report here what the Spynet scan found. So I did!

Thanks for the report. I had thought that I'd replied earlier to this, but
I'm not certain. The issue with the XML file containing invalid characters
is one which I believe will be addressed in beta2--among other things
localization will require that the xml be able to handle many character
sets.

Hi

Aha ;)

This report will probably be totally rewritten.
My problem is wrong language XML version.

MSAS communication with updater, proxys, reports
has a lot of problems but what I have read this will be
totally rewritten for Beta 2.

Yes Bill you had replied earlier to this (I can easily see how one might lose
track).
I recognise the non reporting bug is a known issue. But I wasnt sure whether
what the Spynet scan found was indeed the bug itself, or something else that
it wasnt able to report - if you see what I mean. And as Alan? suggested
posting the findings here, I did. As for xml (to which you both Bill and Plun
refer to) I dont have a clue what that is. Sorry. But I note what you say.
However Plun, I dont know what you mean when you say "My Problem is wrong
language XML version."
I think ill just let that all hang in the air, thank you both, and wish you
a good day.

Hi

This is not a "problem" for me, what I mean with
wrong language version is that I´m using swedish
XP which don´t works with MSAS english XLM version.

But this report bug will for sure be solved. ;)

I didn't explain that well. XML is a file format used for the report.
Certain data needs to be quoted or contained properly if it is to be present
in the XML file--I really don't know the details of this, but foreign
language characters would be one kind of data that might need special
treatment.
The error you are seeing indicates that the XML file has some content which
can't be properly processed--this is a bug in the app creating the XML
file--which, of course, is Microsoft Antispyware.

So--there are two bugs--the bug about sending the report, which I know is to
be fixed, and the bug about creating the XML file, which I expect also to be
fixed, but don't have direct info about.

And none of this is much use to you--just trying to be vaguely accurate.
