Submit form error

Guest

I am successfully submitting forms on a number of other sites on my server so
I am confident the server extensions are working properly. However one site
keeps returning the following error message. I have looked at the form
settings and do not see what might be the problem. Any ideas?

"Cannot run the FrontPage Server Extensions on this page:

Thanks - Jody

It's very likely that the server host needs to recalculate the extensions.
I'd give them a call.

Hi Teri,

I am the host. I tried that but it didn't fix the problem.

Thanks - Jody

There's no valid form on the page that uses FrontPage extensions.
All there is, is this:
<form action=http://www.domainbank.net/modules/domain_check.cfm?affiliateid=809 method=post>

And that does *not* a FrontPage form create.

Recreate your form and republish. To use the FrontPage extensions requires that the webbot info be
included in the page.

I am sorry but I do not understand what you mean. I can edit the form
properties so I am not sure what you mean buy there not being a form?

The form is not being process by the FP Form Handler, so it is not a FP related issue.

The form is being processed via:
<form action=http://www.domainbank.net/modules/domain_check.cfm

How do you know that from the error message?
"Cannot run the FrontPage Server Extensions on this page:

The url I provided is just an example. Perhaps this is where the confusion
is coming from. The form is a form, I can edit the form properties in FP.

It the URL you provide is just an example, then you need to provide a link to the actual form with
the problem.

No the form STILL does not work. There seems to be some bizar
misunderstanding in this thread. The URL I provided as I sid eariler was an
EXAMPLE not the actual URL so how someone can tell that the form I am having
issues with is working or not does not seem possible except for the fact the
I am still getting the error message.

For those of you who feel the need to test the form the REAL URL is:
http://www.experiencedcriminallawyers.com use the Quick Contact on lower
left of every page.

Thank You - Jody

Thank You - Jody

Don't need to test it, just need to see it. I thought the form in question was at the other link you
posted.

Anyway, the form at experiencedcriminallawyers.com is trying to email to an address not associated
with the
experiencedcriminallawyers.com domain, which won't work without some server side scripting.

Try mailing the form to an email account associated with the domain:
(e-mail address removed)

Jody,

Try the following..

First, remove the Form from appearing on the contact-confirm.htm, then test.

If you still get an error then

Open the page on the live/remote site in FP, then under Form Properties | Options
- File Results: Set File Format to Formatted Text instead of HTML
- E-mail Results: Set E-mail format to Formatted Text instead of HTML

Thank you Tom that worked.

I first removed the form on the comfirmation page and that did not seem to
help but I noticed that the Send To: field in the form properties was
pointing by default to ../_private/from_results.htm where that path did not
exist. So I changed it that to ../formrslt.htm where that file was
orifinally located and also changed the HTML format to Formatted Text.

Thanks - Jody

If you were having a problem with *your* car, but you took your *neighbor's*
car to the mechanic instead, would you become impatient with the mechanic,
and sense a "bizar" misunderstanding, because he might "feel the need" to
see *your* car in order to tell what was wrong with *your* car?

Perhaps you may not have noticed several posts ago that I metioned that the
URL I posted was an example and that is is what perhaps caused the
confustion. It took me awhile to realize that what I thought was an obvious
example was not so obvious to others. We are just being humans here. No
need to hang on to it.

Bob is right. And no, there's no need for you to "hang on" to it. Learn from
it instead, and move forward. The alternative is to "go back, Jack, do it
again," as Steeley Dan once put it.
