I didnt have the name of the website my homepage keeps defaulting too in my
last post. it defalts after restart to
http://www.messengersite.net/forum/portal.htm

Sounds like you have what's known as a hijacker.

Try spybot search and destroy, it has a neat feature, (a background progam
called teatimer), that notifies you whenever a program makes a change to the
registry. Get version 1.3 though. 1.4 has a cosmetic bug where you can't see
the "allow" or "deny" buttons when it asks you if you wish to allow a
registry change. Still works if you push "A" or "D" keys though.

Adaware will probably also help.

There are other spyware programs around, don't forget to update whicher one
you get.
