Subforms attached to a data entry only form

I have created a form that will be used for data entry only. This form
contains three subforms. When I change the Allow Edits & Allow Deletions
Properties on the primary form to 'No', the textboxes of the subforms no
longer appear in the form view. Why does this happen?
