Subfolders

Yes, but I can assure you that you'll reach a practical limit long before
you reach the technical limit ;-)

user has 1000+ folders and custom views keep changing from folder to folder

So, what is the limit?

As I said; you'll read the practical limit well before the technical one.
Even for old ANSI formatted pst-files the limit it between 16.000 and
65.000. It all depends on how many items there are in those folders too.

Custom views are indeed changing from folder to folder; that's why they are
custom views. If you need a consistent view, then define a view of your own
and apply it to the folders.

Have one custom view applied to all 1000+ folders and for some reason the
view just changes on them for no reason at all. Why is that happen and how to
fix it?

Tried that all ready and the view on the subfolder changed then changed all
the folder view. Outlook is running in online mode. Mailbox size is 7.2GB.
Don't know if that is the issue.

I am just trying to give suggestions on how to fix the problem if it comes
up again.

I trying to figure out where the views are stored. The mailbox has been
created so has the profile, a new computer was given. /cleanviews ran and
Message view modified to the correct view wanted - now it is wait and see if
that fixed the issue of if they user moves a message into a folder and it
goes back to another view.

Views are stored as a hidden message in the actual mailbox. That is why you
can access views from other computers as well.

Instead of trying to solve this, you might want to do something about data
management and end-user training. Surely having a 7.2GB mailbox and over a
1000 of subfolders is anything but practical for the end user nor would it
be considered a good corporate policy when it comes to information
mangement.

That is one of the suggestions but they have no e-mail retention policy and
they want to fix the view changing issue.

If all else fails, the solution would be to archive a lot of folders and
decrease the size of the mailbox.
