subfolders not displayed in backup tool

I am using the backup tool with Outlook 2007. When I click on options I only
see the "Main Personal Folder" listed as an option to backup. There are no
subfolder headings displayed. How do I back up only the contacts?
 
Which backup tool do you mean? The Outlook Backup Addin provided by
Microsoft?
That's correct behavior as it backups the entire pst-file which includes all
the folders that fall within that pst-file.
Switch your Outlook Navigation to Folder List Navigation to see all your
folders.
