Sub Web Navigation

I am in the process of turning my frontpage web into one with 4 subwebs.
My questions is how do I get the navigation structure of my subwebs to show
a home link to the index page.
Right now, even though I selected "home and up" when setting up the link bar
properties, there is no link to the main page unless I make one manualy
any help

Subwebs are completely independent webs under a root web, you have to manual create your link
between each and the root web.
