STYLES in FORM FIELD

In dropdown form fields and text form fields i would like certain words to be
bolded. Do i need to format it that way BEFORE placing in a dropdown form
field?
ex: Applicant has 2 choices....We MAY contact employer/We MAY NOT contact
employer.
I'd like for MAY/MAY NOT to be bold.

How do i go about this?
