Style will not apply via shortcut key?

I have defined a style and named it. Basically it is a combination of font,
font-size, paragraph indent & font-colour changes. I have assigned it the
shortcut key Ctrl-Shft-Z. The style will work OK when applied manually, but
if I press Ctrl-Shft-Z, nothing happens.

The template I am using was created on a Windows2K Word2002 workstation and
since moving to a new workstation, it will not work. My shortcut key macros
work fine (Ctrl-Shft-C & Ctrl-Shft-X).

Hi Julian

When this happens to me, I go through a process as follows.

Open normal.dot, use Tools > Customize > Keyboard and find out what, if
anything, is attached to ctrl-shift-z in normal.dot. If anything is assigned
to that shortcut key combination, delete it. Now, open the document itself
and do the same: delete any assignment to ctrl-shift-z.

Now, open the document template using File > Open (that is, open the
template; don't create a new document from it). Use Tools > Customize >
Keyboard to associate ctrl-shift-z with your style. Make sure that the
dialog box says that you're saving the changes in the template.

That should clear it up.

Hope this helps.
