Style error message in Word 2003

I use Word 2003 on Vista Home Premium. Just recently when I edit an existing
file by adding a bullet or number and hit "enter", Word locks up, closes, and
restarts. It's never done this in the past - now it does it all the time.

Your message is confusing. The Subject says "Style error message in Word
2003", but the body of the message does not mention any error message. Is
there an error message? If so, what is it? If not, then the usual causes
are:

1. Misbehaving add-in.

2. Corrupted Normal.dotm.

3. Corrupted registry entry (usually the Data key).
