Stupid dual monitor question

Pug Fugley

I know, I know probably a stupid question here.

I want to run a dual monitor setup on some systems, which I normally do with
a Matrox G450. However, I'm having trouble finding them at the moment so I'm
looking at a Gigabyte Radeon 9200 that has a D-sub and a DVI output, but I
want to run 2 analog CRT monitors. I know it comes with a DVI/D-sub
convertor, but will the DVI output work okay with an analog CRT? And will
these two allow me to run 2 montiors if it will work? Common sense tells me
it would be fine, but after downloading the manual for the card it makes no
mention of an analog CRT working on the DVI with the convertor, only analog
LCD.

TIA!

Works fine.

Everything will work fine. I had trouble with a 8500LE once, the DVI was
DVI-D digital only, not DVI-I with both digital and analog. I guess they
save $0.25 with cheaper connector. If your card comes with adapter then all
is well.

If you look closely at the connector you'll see a grid of pins going about
3/4 of the way across, then four pins in a square at the end. In a DVI-D
connector those four pins or the four holes for them should be missing.
