Stuck at boot

We are running a Windows 2000 pc. We are experiencing an
issue where the pc will be turned on after being shut down
for the weekend and the pc is getting stuck at
the "Applying security policy" screen. The pc does have
SP4 installed. For now I have been restarting the pc into
Safe Mode. After I log into this as the local Admin I
restart again into normal mode. This time I can get into
the pc with no problem. This does solve the issue,
however, the pc is used by the director of IT and she
would like to get this resolved.

Can anyone offer any solutions???
 
I am having exactly the same problem except my does have SP4 installed. I am
also working in the safe mode. Did you get any help
