I would like to stretch accross two monitors using windows
2000. I have seen this done in Windows 98se using two
video cards then attaching two monitors then you can tell
it to stretch accross both screens giving you access to a
larger area to work on. Any ideas? I am going to post this
under hardware video cards as well. Thanks Shirley

Didn't you just answer your own question?
Yes, either use 2 vid cards or use one that can support
multiple monitors for an extended desktop.

But how do you configure it? Thanks Shirley

It is supported under Windows 2000, however, the driver for your video card
controls it, not Windows. Go to your video card manufacturer's website and
search for a newer driver. Most Windows drivers installed by windows itself
are basic sets with little if any advanced features.

Depends on the hardware you use. For example if you are
going to use an ATI video card capable of supporting
multiple monitors then the drivers will make this possible
in the advanced section of the display properties.
Basically you are just going to put a checkmark next to
the option to extend your desktop.
And with ATI you can install a program called HydraVision
which will help you manage where windows opens, where pop-
up messages are displayed, etc...
