Stretched faxed images..!!

I'm having a problem with faxed images that I receive being stretched. I
can't tell if the stretching is coming from the way the user is sending the
fax, or if it's the way my computer is reading/viewing it. This is turning
into a big issue because I use those faxed images in a display.

Anyone know what's going on here????

It could be a 'fine' resolution image being displayed as 'normal'
resolution but it's not possible to guess why from your description.
Resolution selection normally applies in one direction only - the scan
line pitch.
Is it a two to one stretch in that direction ?

Are you able to reduce the resolution in a graphics package before
display ?
At a guess it's the vertical ( scan line spacing ) axis that needs
reducing.

You could get the sender to test/check sending in 'normal' resolution.
