Hi Prospect,
That is a very strange problem to have, and one that I have not seen before.
My first reaction, particularly based on your description of how this
problem started, was that perhaps you enabled an accessibility option
designed to help people with vision problems (making things bigger), but if
you can't read the words even when they're bigger, then this is probably not
the issue. It sounds more like you've somehow set your system to a really
low resolution on a widescreen laptop that's not set to handle the aspect
ratio scaling properly. If I had to make a guess, I'd imagine that setting
it back to the manufacturer's suggested resolution should fix the problem.
However, since I'm only guessing here, let's get some more information from
you to help fix the problem. I've included some questions that should serve
as a good starting point.
What kind of system are you using? Make/model?
Perhaps you have a notebook with a wide screen? Aspect ratio's could be
at play here...
What is your video card? Make/model?
What is your current video resolution set to?
Control Panel > Display > Settings > Screen Resolution
What is your current monitor's refresh rate?
Control Panel > Display > Settings > Screen Resolution > advanced > Monitor
What is the current DPI Setting for your system?
Control Panel > Display > Settings > Screen Resolution > advanced > General
What steps have you tried on your own to resolve the problem?
