Posted this in the MediaPlayer group, but that's got next to no
traffic, so haven't had a response. Maybe someone here knows...

Running Windows XP SP2 Installed
WMP 9

When I attempt to view streaming Windows Video I am able to hear the
soundtrack, but I get no video. I can see the first frame, it does not
progress from there.

On some sites the link is in a format which allows me to download the
clip to my drive, and those play OK. But when the link is formatted to
only allow streaming, I cannot view the video. This happens on any
site I visit which offers streaming Windows Video.

Any and all suggestions gratefully received.

Thanks

Tried all of them.

The first, as you say, is directed at WMP 8.1, but I did check the
settings menitoned, and they were properly set,

The second link actually is directed at the exact opposite of my
situation: I am getting sound, no picture. The link addresses picture,
no sound.

And the last link addressed codecs, specifially the Windows MP 9
package of current codecs, which I had already installed. I should
have mentioned that in my post.

I appreciate the response though
