Streaming audio from an external hard drive?

Would an external USB 2.0 hard drive be fast enough to stream audio
from iTunes across a wireless network?

I'm using Windows XP Home. Wireless network is 802.11b.

Yes the drive (and USB2) is far faster than the wireless
network is.

Yes. Uncompressed audio requires less than 200 KB/sec. Compressed audio is much less.
