Stray fonts

Mark Durrenberger

I have a ppt (2003 on Windows) that started life as a "More" document (yes
it is quite old) and despite years of editing and reapplying masters,
editing masters etc.., when I print the file to PDF (using Acrobat
Distiller) I'm told that the document contains fonts like "Times-Roman" or
"Helvitica-BoldOblique" which we haven't used since our Mac days (with
More). (and Distiller cannot embedd these fonts because we don't have them)
(Retyping the presention is not an option >250 slide)

Is there a way to find these instances of strange fonts and delete/replace
them in the ppt?

Thanks,
Mark

Sorry, forgot to mention that I did try that and no they don't show up at
all???
Question - does PP pick up all the fonts - including those in slide notes or
embedded in graphics (not JPG or other bit map types of course).

Question - does PP pick up all the fonts - including those in slide notes or

notes - yes
embedded objects - yes
pasted spreadsheets - yes
pasted graphs - yes
pictures - no
bitmaps /jpgs - no

Try ungrouping the likely problem objects, then you can change the font.

Remember to check all the "master" pages for your rodent font.

Thanks, I started the hunt on the masters and that is the source of the
problem - my POT file is guilty.

[TOP ISSUE - Are you having difficulty opening presentations in PowerPoint
that you just created (you can save, but not open)? -
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=329820]

Hello,

If you (or anyone else reading this message) have suggestions for how to
make this easier to do in PowerPoint, don't forget to send your feedback
(in YOUR OWN WORDS, please) to Microsoft at:

http://register.microsoft.com/mswish/suggestion.asp

It's VERY important that, for EACH wish, you describe in detail, WHY it is
important TO YOU that your product suggestion be implemented. A good wish
submssion includes WHAT scenario, work-flow, or end-result is blocked by
not having a specific feature, HOW MUCH time and effort ($$$) is spent
working around a specific limitation of the current product, etc. Remember
that Microsoft receives THOUSANDS of product suggestions every day and we
read each one but, in any given product development cycle, there are ONLY
sufficient resources to address the ones that are MOST IMPORTANT to our
customers so take the extra time to state your case as CLEARLY and
COMPLETELY as possible so that we can FEEL YOUR PAIN.

IMPORTANT: Each submission should be a single suggestion (not a list of
suggestions).

just to add a small comment, you might change all your fonts but forget
the default font for the master (click on the background and see what
shows up), each master has its own.
