strange sounds

hi,
i have just installed new features in my computer: CPU and graphic card
on AGP. (I had had my video onboard). The problem I have is that I get
strange noises coming from my sound device (on-board), no matter if
with speakers or headphones. If no process is running, it's ok but when
I start a program, there are the noises, in other words the intensity
of the sounds seems to me to be connected with the CPU's demand. What
should I do? (btw. the sounds persist even if I set the system volume
to minimum. Is it possible that all this is caused not by the new
configuration but by something I caused during the manipulation with
the mainboard during the installation? Would a new sound device (NOT
on-board) solve this nuisance?
thanks for any help
Pavel

Describe the sounds, are they beeps, are they long and short or a series of
short beeps, how many are they, it could be your BIOS giving you a heads up,
that you onboard video is not disabled, and your trying to use an alternate
source for video.

you may need to disable the onboard video or it could be something else.

these are quite continuous sounds, something as if you were tuning
radio. These sounds are more audible as you run with mouse or type on
the keyboard- I would almost say that as you write you get quite
distinct cliks/beeps.
Sorry about this stupid question, but how do i disable my on-board
video in BIOS? I only found how to set the order in wich the mainboard
boots- if the AGP on-board device first or . btw if I reboot with
on-board video, i still get the bugging noises.

thanks Pavel

If i put my computer on standby, then wake it up, it plays no sound at all,
but rather emulates CDs spinning in a drive perfectly (when a CD is in a
drive)

Contact the motherboard tech support by phone, and "play the noises" so
they can hear the problem.

You may have your system set to click each time a key is pressed, some people
like this, I don't. each BIOS is different do some reading in your
motherboard manual, it should tell you how to disable onboard video.
